Opposition Gears Up to Challenge BJP in Maharashtra Assembly Polls

Congress leader K C Venugopal stated on Friday that the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance is dedicated to toppling the 'corrupt' government in Maharashtra. He expressed confidence that the electorate would deliver a strong rebuke to the ruling BJP in the forthcoming assembly polls.
Speaking to reporters post a strategy meeting, Venugopal emphasized that all Congress leaders have been instructed to present a unified stance. The assembly elections, anticipated in October, will spotlight issues such as unemployment and the plight of farmers, he noted.
Highlighting the shifting political landscape, Venugopal pointed out that the INDIA bloc had secured convincing victories in recent bypolls, signaling a potential UPSC for the BJP-led government. Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole added that the MVA leadership would soon finalize the election strategy, with the campaign kickoff slated for August 20.
