Goa Assembly Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar narrowly avoided a serious mishap earlier this week when his vehicle encountered a technical glitch on the New Zuari Bridge in South Goa. The incident transpired as Tawadkar was en route to the state's ongoing monsoon session.
Speaking to PTI, Tawadkar recounted the ordeal, which saw the rear wheels of his high-end SUV jam while traveling at 70 km/h. The vehicle skidded toward the divider, collided with it, and briefly became airborne before landing back on the road.
Fortuitously, neither Tawadkar nor his security entourage sustained any injuries. He continued to the legislative assembly in a police escort vehicle. The monsoon session commenced on Monday.
