Elon Musk announced on Tuesday that he is relocating the headquarters of X and SpaceX from California to Texas, citing a new gender-identity law as the 'last straw.'

This move follows Musk's endorsement of Republican Donald Trump for U.S. president, further consolidating his businesses in Texas, where he has lived since 2021 due to favorable tax regulations.

The decision follows a California law preventing school districts from requiring teachers to notify parents if a child changes gender identity. Musk, who has a transgender daughter, emphasized that the law and others like it are hostile to both families and businesses.

While SpaceX's main office will shift to Boca Chica and X to Austin, the exact impact on job transfers from California remains uncertain. SpaceX's headquarters in Los Angeles hosts thousands of employees working on critical space projects.

Musk previously moved Tesla's headquarters to Texas and shifted SpaceX's incorporation from Delaware to Texas. This relocation follows a Delaware court ruling against Musk's $56 billion Tesla compensation plan.
