Vance, 39, is married to Indian American Usha Chilukuri Vance, who has roots in Andhra Pradesh. Trump highlighted Vance's impressive academic and professional background, noting his contributions to the Marine Corps, Ohio State University, and Yale Law School.
Trump praised Vance's book, "Hillbilly Elegy," as a major success and noted his accomplishments in technology and finance. Vance is expected to focus on American workers and farmers during the campaign. The formal nomination is slated to occur later this week.
