In the wake of Congress candidates securing victories in two out of three assembly constituencies during recent by-elections in Himachal Pradesh, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday conveyed her elation and congratulated all Congress and INDI alliance winners. The by-elections spanned 13 seats across seven states.

'The people of the country have extended their support to the INDI alliance in the by-elections held on 13 seats in seven states. The people of Himachal Pradesh have expressed their faith in Congress. Many congratulations to all the winning candidates of Congress and INDI alliance,' Gandhi stated.

Further emphasizing the Congress party's dedication to addressing the needs and aspirations of the youth, she mentioned, 'The people of the country have understood that misleading politics, whether it was from 100 years ago or projecting 100 years ahead, will not benefit the nation. The public desires progressive politics that enhances the present and prepares a blueprint for a brighter future. We are committed to the needs and aspirations of young India.'

Expressing satisfaction with the bypoll results, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu commented, 'This is the victory of people over money power. Voters have delivered a strong rebuke to the politics of horse-trading, maintaining political integrity in the state. It has been 25 years since a Congress candidate won in Dehra, and the Nalagarh candidate also achieved a significant victory. This outcome sends a clear message nationwide, deterring horse-trading in Himachal Pradesh for the next 50 years.'

Sukhu added that attempts to destabilize the government since February 28, 2024, have been thwarted, and conspiracies to topple the democratically elected government have failed. With this victory, the number of Congress MLAs in the assembly has risen to 40.
