In the wake of Congress candidates' victories in two out of three assembly constituencies in recent by-elections, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has declared the triumph a victory of the people over money power. 'This is a victory for voters and the dedicated efforts of Congress workers,' Sukhu said at his official residence, Oak Over.

Chief Minister Sukhu emphasized the significance of this win, noting that it has been 25 years since a Congress candidate won in Dehra and the Nalagarh candidate also secured a significant victory. He asserted that the election outcome rebuked horse-trading politics and preserved political integrity. Sukhu also mentioned thwarting attempts to destabilize the government since February 28, 2024, resulting in the restoration of 40 Congress MLAs in the assembly.

Criticizing opposition leader Jai Ram Thakur, Sukhu called the BJP's 'Operation Lotus' a massive failure, citing the misleading claims made by Thakur. Sukhu condemned three independent MLAs for imposing the by-election by attempting to overthrow the government and declared the election results a lesson against such destabilizing efforts. He also highlighted that the BJP managed to win only two of 13 assembly constituencies nationwide, indicating a rejection of its autocratic policies. (ANI)
