Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida emphasized the state government's commitment to women empowerment, aiming to create 30 lakh 'Lakhpati Didi' under the Mission Shakti initiative. Speaking in Rayagada district, Parida stated, 'In 15 days, I have covered 7 districts. My government's primary focus is on empowering women.'

Parida elaborated that the initiative is a key part of Prime Minister Modi's vision for women employment, highlighting that 7 to 8 lakh women have already been empowered. 'Women are now working across 19 departments under Mission Shakti, enhancing their economic participation in village development,' she said.

She stressed that the government's priority is to ensure the progress of villages through women's active roles. 'Women in villages not only earn for their livelihoods but also contribute significantly to village progress and idea formation. Empowered women manage various line departments like anganwadis,' she added.

Parida further noted that 70 lakh women are currently organized and advancing through Mission Shakti. 'Odisha is set to lead in Prime Minister Modi's vision of women-led development,' she concluded.

The 'Lakhpati Didi' initiative is central to the Prime Minister's vision for economic empowerment and financial autonomy for women, especially in rural regions, according to an official release.
