Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan arrived in Ranchi on Saturday evening to assess BJP's performance in the recent Lok Sabha elections and to devise strategies for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly polls, according to a party official.

This is Chouhan's first visit as the party's election in-charge for the state. On Sunday, he will convene with the core committee, district presidents, and other key officials to discuss the way forward.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, co-incharge of the elections, is also set to join the meeting on Sunday. Chouhan was welcomed warmly by party workers at Ranchi's Birsa Munda airport. Notable figures present at the airport included Ranchi MP and Union Minister of State Sanjay Seth and Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash.

State BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo informed PTI that a series of brainstorming sessions will commence at 11am on Sunday. The primary agenda is to review the party's Lok Sabha performance in Jharkhand and outline the roadmap for the Jharkhand Assembly elections.
