Manipur Congress president Keisham Meghachandra on Friday alleged that the state is witnessing an 'undeclared President's Rule,' leaving the people bewildered about the actual seat of power.

According to Meghachandra, neither Chief Minister N Biren Singh nor other state ministers have been invited to important meetings convened by Union Home Minister Amit Shah concerning Manipur.

He made these allegations during a protest organized by the party to oppose 'irregularities' in the NEET and UGC-NET exams. 'We are seeing 99.9 percent President's Rule activities. The Centre is not heeding the state government,' Meghachandra stated.

The Congress also highlighted issues discussed during a meeting in Delhi about education, food, and health for displaced persons, which they argue are the state's responsibilities. Ethnic violence between valley-based Meiteis and hill-based Kukis since May has resulted in over 200 deaths and displaced thousands.

The sit-in at the party headquarters in Imphal also addressed allegations of NEET 2024 question paper leaks, with Congress leader O Ibobi Singh condemning the irregularities for jeopardizing the future of the youth. Meghachandra demanded strict punishment for those involved in the leaks.
