The Trinamool Congress (TMC) significantly surged ahead of its rivals in the West Bengal elections. As per the Election Commission website, TMC led in 31 seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) trailed with 10, and the Congress with just one.

Should TMC maintain its lead, it is set to achieve its second-best performance in the state since 2014, having won 34 seats then. By 1 PM, TMC had garnered 47% of the votes, up from 43% in the 2019 polls.

Despite an intense campaign with central BJP leaders at the forefront, BJP's tally looks set to decline by eight seats from its 2019 count of 18. The Congress, struggling to secure seats, sees its president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury trailing in Baharampur for a sixth term. CPI(M) appears disabled to win any seat just like in 2019.

Prominent TMC candidates including Abhishek Banerjee and Asit Mal hold significant leads in their constituencies. As celebrations break out at TMC chief Mamata Banerjee's residence, party spokesperson Santanu Sen stated these trends reflect the people's faith in TMC's policies and a rejection of anti-Bengali forces, dismissing exit polls as pro-BJP propaganda.
