Delhi minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Saurabh Bharadwaj on Saturday took a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) saying that they have accepted defeat and the fact that the work in the national capital will not stop. Hailing the Delhi Chief Minister, he said, "Arvind Kejriwal had promised the people of Delhi that whether he is outside the jail or inside, he will not let the work of the people of Delhi stop."

Lashing out at the BJP, he said, "Those who used to say that they would not let the government run from jail, too have accepted defeat. They accepted that the work of Delhi would not stop. The Kejriwal government will run from jail. Work will keep happening." He further called it a victory for Arvind Kejriwal and the people of Delhi.

Earlier in the day, AAP leader Sanjay Singh hit out at the BJP alleging that Delhi CM Kejriwal is being "tortured" inside the Tihar jail at the behest of the central government. The AAP leader also said that the jail administration indulged in "inhuman" behaviour and refused to allow Kejriwal's wife, Sunita Kejriwal, to meet him in person.

Speaking at a press conference in the national capital, Sanjay Singh said, "Elected thrice with an overwhelming majority, the Chief Minister of 2 crore people in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, is being 'tortured,' at the behest of the Government of India, at the behest of the Prime Minister of the country." "Efforts are being made to break his morale and now and then an attempt is being made to destroy even the minimum rights and facilities available to anyone and all this is being done openly," he said.

Notably, Arvind Kejriwal is currently in Tihar Jail under judicial custody. He was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate last month in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case. (ANI)
