Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda said on Monday the central bank will likely consider changing monetary policy if prospects of sustainably achieving its 2% target increase "sufficiently."

"Given uncertainties surrounding economic and financial markets at home and abroad, the timing of a policy change is yet to be decided," Ueda said in a speech.
