A joint effort by Alibaba Group and China-based Rwandan embassy introduced three Rwandan specialty coffee brands to the Chinese consumers at an event in Shanghai on January 6.
While Jack Ma-founded Alibaba Group is trying to strengthen agro-products exports like avocado, tree tomatoes, beef, French beans, crayfish and varied fruits and vegetables from Rwanda to China, on the other side the Chinese multinational conglomerate also encouraged the promotion of three coffee brands to the Chinese coffee aficionados through the Electronic World Trade Platform project.
While talking to the media, Charles Kayonga, the Rwandan Ambassador to China opined that Rwandan coffee is getting positive reviews from the Chinese consumers. According to him, the constant popularity of Rwandan coffee among the Chinese consumers is motivating the farmers (Rwandan farmers) to augment production to meet the high requirement, as revealed by Charles Kayonga.
While talking about Electronic World Trade Platform project, Kayonge said that it will undeniably assist Rwandan coffee farmers alongside the coffee value chain to flourish as the market is becoming bullish day by day.
The New Times reported that the discussion is going on to promote more Rwandan coffee brands through Electronic World Trade Platform project. Even a delegation of Rwandan coffee sellers will soon visit China to have a detailed discussion on the partnership with the Chinese coffee buyers.
