"No other country in the world is working on environmental issues with such depth, conviction, and honesty” as India, opined Union Environment Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on Friday. Speaking at the release of the National Cooling Action Plan (NCAP), Dr Vardhan said, “The way India is working on the environmental issues, I can say with full trust that no country in the world is doing so with such depth, conviction, and honesty.”
India is the first country in the world to develop a National Cooling Plan. The Programme aims to meet India’s increasing cooling demands by developing sustainable and smart cooling strategies. Vardhan told media here that the plan has been developed after thorough discussions with stakeholders involved in the initiative.
“The plan has been developed after thorough discussions with the stakeholders. The benefits of the plan are already visible, considering that the mindset of the industries is already changing,” said Dr Vardhan. Speaking on the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) launched last month, Dr Vadhan said, “The programme has already been implemented in 102 countries, and we are working very aggressively on every front.” The Environment Minister remarked that India, in the future, will play the leading role in the fight against global warming.
