A section of the gallery in a decades-old residential building in Thane, Maharashtra, collapsed, necessitating the evacuation of all residents. The incident occurred at Suyog Niwas in Wagle Estate late on Saturday night with no injuries reported, according to disaster management officials.

Yasin Tadvi, head of the Regional Disaster Management Cell of the Thane Municipal Corporation, noted that while the remaining part of the gallery was deemed hazardous, immediate measures were taken by fire, police, and power service teams to secure the area. The building, considered moderately dangerous, was entirely evacuated as a precaution. Further safety assessments by the civic authorities are underway.
