Turkey’s President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is likely to visit Banjul, The Gambia’s capital on Monday, January 27 for one-day state visit. His visit has been confirmed by The Gambian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad.

The visit of Turkey’s Head of State, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is meant to look into existing bilateral relations between two nations. His visit will create a new platform to pave the discussion between President of The Gambia, Adama Barrow and his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in strengthening cooperation at bilateral and multilateral levels.

The relationship between Turkish and The Gambia has enhanced under the Barrow administration with the two countries cooperating in commerce, education, economic, health and security among other sectors.

The Gambia and Turkey were said to have closely work together at International community level, such as the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
