Good news for the Botswanans! Now the citizens in Botswana will be allowed to run businesses without acquiring licenses. The South African country’s Parliament has passed a bill and the President Mokgweetsi Masisi has vowed to sign the bill into law.
Soon people living in Botswana will start running businesses without any licenses and they can continue as long as they want from the confines of their homes.
Botswana’s Head of State, Mokgweetsi Masisi has made this announcement on August 12 via his Twitter handle saying, “I want to share with you that among the bills passed by the 11th Parliament is a bill that allows you to run your small business from home without requiring a license. Soon I will sign this bill into law.” The 58-year-old leader has kept a high hope behind this decision of combating unemployment in the country.
Starting businesses at home is a tremendous idea that will take shape into domestic entrepreneurship. And most importantly, the people would not require to spend time and money behind the long processes of acquiring licenses. The country is already in the 86th position out of 190 nations in the ease of doing business, whereas in the 6th position in Africa, according to the World Bank annual ratings.
“Please take advantage of these efforts to do your part in self-improvement for your communities & our country. Have a productive week,” Masisi tweeted. “It is our serious intent to reduce excessive and unnecessary regulation of the economy to allow you to prosper. This is part of our improving the ease of doing business for Botswana,” he further tweeted.
More details awaited.
