A team from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) carried out a rescue operation for nine crew members of a tug boat near the Colaba lighthouse early on Friday morning. The rescue effort was in response to a report received by the CISF's Mumbai Port Authority control room.
The report, which came in around 6:10 am, indicated that the KPS Shivali tug was taking on water due to a breach in its hull. By 6:50 am, the CISF had reached the site and successfully evacuated all crew members, bringing them safely to the Gateway of India. Further information regarding the damage to the tug or its current status is still pending.
