A police officer assigned to Mau Sadar MLA Abbas Ansari's security has been suspended, officials revealed on Tuesday.
The move by Superintendent of Police Kamlesh Bahadur comes after constable Upendra Kumar was found to have abandoned his post without authorization.
Further investigations indicated that Kumar left the district during his duty hours, presenting a breach of protocol deemed as severe neglect and indiscipline, according to Additional Superintendent of Police Anoop Kumar.
