BJP MLA Shalabh Mani Tripathi set an example of accountability by requesting a fine on himself after he was caught on video riding a motorcycle without a helmet. The incident occurred after a party worker persuaded him to take a quick ride, which he later acknowledged was against traffic regulations.
Taking swift action, Tripathi approached the police, requesting them to impose a fine on him, which they duly did, amounting to Rs 1,000. The MLA complied with the fine and took the opportunity to remind the public of the importance of following traffic rules, especially the use of helmets.
