A police constable in Jharkhand tragically lost his life due to an accidental discharge of his service rifle on Sunday, according to local authorities.
The officer, identified as Raju Tirkey from Tigra village, was on duty at the Mahabuang police station in Simdega district when the incident occurred.
Preliminary investigations reveal that Tirkey sustained fatal injuries when his INSAS rifle accidentally fired. Though rushed to Sadar Hospital, he was declared dead on arrival. An investigation is underway to uncover more details surrounding this unfortunate event.
