Latur Police have arrested a man suspected of running an online IPL betting racket, seizing valuables amounting to Rs 7.06 lakh. The confiscated items include a car, mobile phones, a laptop, and cash, according to officials on Saturday.
A police tip-off on Friday evening led authorities to believe that a person was taking online bets for the IPL match between Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings from a car.
The Local Crime Branch team quickly executed a raid near Yerol Mod in Shirur Anantpal tehsil, arresting Tataerao Shivaji Dandime, a 34-year-old resident of Udgir. He faces charges under the Maharashtra Gambling Prevention Act. Investigations are continuing.
