In a distressing incident in Champawat district, Uttarakhand, authorities have charged three men with the alleged gang-rape of a 16-year-old girl. Champawat SP Rekha Yadav confirmed a swift response from law enforcement following the girl's reported disappearance during a wedding ceremony.
The victim was swiftly rescued and taken to a district hospital for immediate treatment and a medical examination. Involved police forces have initiated an extensive evidence collection process, deploying both the Special Operations Group and local personnel to aid the investigation.
SP Yadav reported having spoken directly to the victim, learning more about the heinous assault. An official FIR has been filed against the accused, based on a complaint from the victim's father, as the search for justice continues.
