MoUs Propel Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0 in Mizoram and Ladakh

The Centre has strengthened its commitment to rural drinking water infrastructure through freshly signed MoUs with Mizoram and Ladakh under the Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0 campaign. The Ministry of Jal Shakti announced these agreements aimed at enhancing community-driven and transparent supply systems.
Union Jal Shakti Minister C R Patil, who virtually participated in the signing event, lauded Mizoram's impressive near-100% physical progress and Ladakh's 98.18% FHTC achievement. He emphasized the commitment to achieving 'Har Ghar Jal' by 2028, promising federal support for timely reforms and expedited financing.
Both regions will employ a gram panchayat-led model to meet JJM 2.0's accountability and sustainability benchmarks. As Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma and Ladakh's Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena witnessed the MoUs virtually, they highlighted infrastructure progress and pledged continued rapid execution of water supply initiatives.
