GST Enforcement Triumphs in Udhampur

In a decisive enforcement action, a trader in Udhampur was fined Rs 6.29 lakh for breaching Goods and Services Tax (GST) norms. The violation was flagged by the Sales Tax Department, citing unauthorized goods movement without proper documentation.
The operation was sparked by specific intelligence over 12 days, with the trader under constant surveillance. The use of RFID tracking was instrumental in effectively monitoring the movement of goods, leading to a successful interception by a team led by Inspector Anil Parihar.
Senior officials, including Commissioner P K Bhat and Additional Commissioner Namrita Dogra, commended the efforts of the enforcement team. They emphasized the importance of maintaining vigilance and proactive interceptions to uphold strict compliance with GST laws.
