A Mahapanchayat was convened on Friday in Dehradun, led by prominent farmer leader Rakesh Tikait. The gathering aimed to demand justice for Divyanshu Jatrana, a 22-year-old engineering student who tragically died following a clash at a local private university.
During the meeting, Tikait expressed deep concerns about safety in educational institutions in the area, highlighting incidents like Jatrana's as detrimental to the state's reputation. He also addressed the pressing issue of drug trafficking in Uttarakhand and called for stricter enforcement to tackle these crimes.
Local police have intensified their investigation, already arresting four suspects connected to the incident, with a bounty announced for others still at large. The Mahapanchayat saw participation from numerous farmers, reinforcing community support for justice.
