Municipal officials closed the nightclub for a month due to breaches in operating hours and permitting minors, contributing to the attack site's legal complications.

The La Libertad region, rich in gold deposits yet burdened by illegal mining and extortion, has witnessed a spate of explosions. In the same region, over 280 explosions, including two significant blasts in 2025 alone, injured over 20 people and affected numerous buildings.
