The Delhi High Court has firmly instructed actor Rajpal Yadav to surrender to jail authorities following his conviction in cheque bounce cases. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma noted Yadav's lack of respect for the law as he failed to comply with the court's order to surrender on a previous date.

Yadav's legal team made a mercy plea to retract the court's earlier directive, aiming to repave the way for Yadav to arrange repayment to M/s Murali Projects Pvt Ltd. However, the court maintained its stance, emphasizing adherence to the law rather than individual backgrounds.

The proceedings stem from a challenge made by Yadav and his wife against a sessions court ruling, which upheld their convictions. The high court temporarily suspended their conviction in 2024, conditional on reaching an amicable settlement, but noted Yadav's continual breach of repayment agreements.
