Maharashtra Allocates Funds for Border Agitation Martyrs' Families
Maharashtra government has disbursed Rs 5.40 lakh as pension and benefits to families of nine martyrs from the Maharashtra-Karnataka border agitation for the first quarter of the current year. The fund distribution covers three districts, supporting families of those who perished advocating for border issues.

The Maharashtra government has released Rs 5.40 lakh to provide pensions and financial benefits to the families of nine martyrs involved in the Maharashtra-Karnataka border agitation. The funds, allocated for the first three months of the year, target beneficiaries in Mumbai City, Kolhapur, and Ratnagiri districts.
According to a government resolution by the General Administration Department, each beneficiary family receives a monthly pension of Rs 20,000, along with travel and contingency allowances. A budget provision of Rs 22.10 lakh is set aside for the financial year 2025-26 under the 'Social Security and Welfare' scheme.
District collectors are tasked with ensuring proper fund allocation through BEAMS and maintaining financial records. Martyrs' families are prioritized, as those who died during the border agitation have been honored with martyr status.
