In a startling development, Pakistan's Punjab police have reported the arrest of an alleged Indian national who unknowingly ventured into the country, leading to his detention by Pakistan Rangers for over 100 days without formal procedures.

The individual, BJ Singh, 31, hailing from Assam, India, reportedly crossed the border on August 16 at a post near Ajmal Shaheed, opposite the Indian Bachan Singh Post. For more than three months, Singh was scrutinized by Rangers' personnel.

Upon finding no suspicious activity, Singh was transferred to Saddar police station in Kasur, around 50 kilometers from Lahore, this past week, following which a case for illegal border crossing has been registered against him.
