Controversy in Odisha: Allegations of Assault Over Suspected Affair

A controversial incident in Odisha's Keonjhar district has sparked outrage after a man and a married woman were allegedly assaulted and humiliated over accusations of an extra-marital affair.
The incident, which occurred in Sadangi village on October 21, was recorded and went viral, leading to police intervention and the arrest of four people, including the woman's husband. The police investigation revealed that the suspicions were baseless.
According to inspector Phanindra Nayak, the man had stopped at the woman's home to have a local alcoholic beverage, 'handia.' However, locals misinterpreted the situation, leading to a public humiliation of the pair. Charges have been pressed against the alleged perpetrators.
