Honoring the Brave: Tribute to Policeman Killed in Kathua Gunfight

On Saturday, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah honored four policemen who lost their lives in a gunfight with Pakistani terrorists in Kathua district. The wreath-laying ceremony took place at police headquarters Gulshan Ground, attended by senior officials, including Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary and Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat.
The fallen officers, including head constable Jagbir Singh, were recognized for their bravery in a two-day encounter with terrorists believed to be affiliated with the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) group. The solemn event was marked by tributes from police, CRPF, BSF, and Army officers.
The gunfight in the remote forested area of Safiyan claimed the lives of four police personnel and two terrorists. A separate ceremony was held at district police lines in Kathua to honor three other policemen killed in the encounter.
