A 17-year-old girl from Jharkhand was rescued by Delhi Police after being trafficked to the capital under the guise of employment, according to an official statement on Friday.

The girl's father had filed a missing report at the Rai Deeh police station in Gumla district, which led to the registration of a case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita's sections on kidnapping and trafficking.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Vikram Singh disclosed that the police acted swiftly after receiving a tip-off, conducting multiple raids in Rani Bagh where the victim was discovered. She has been medically examined and will be presented to the Child Welfare Committee for further action.
