Notorious Couple Nabbed After Six-Year Fraud Spree
A couple, Rakesh Sonkar and Sandeep Devi, was arrested after six years of defrauding daily wage workers, job seekers, and agents with a fake company scam. Their fraudulent activities amassed Rs 50 lakh. Declared proclaimed offenders in 2019, they were traced to Ludhiana, Punjab, and apprehended by police.

A couple accused of defrauding daily wage workers and agents by promising jobs was arrested after evading capture for over six years, police reported on Friday.
Rakesh Sonkar and his wife, Sandeep Devi, had been declared proclaimed offenders after setting up a fraudulent company with associates. They charged job seekers registration fees and deceived agents with false commission offers, ultimately defrauding victims of Rs 50 lakh.
Declared offenders in 2019 with a bounty on their heads, the couple was apprehended in Ludhiana, Punjab. Police are continuing the investigation into their associates' whereabouts and involvement.
