The Kerala High Court has dismissed a plea by Congress MLA Mathew Kuzhalnadan seeking an investigation into Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan regarding alleged financial transactions involving his daughter's now-defunct IT firm. The said transactions were reportedly with a private entity, Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd (CMRL).
A government lawyer associated with the case confirmed the dismissal of Kuzhalnadan's plea by Justice K Babu, although a detailed order is yet to be released. This development follows a previous rejection by a vigilance court of a similar investigation request against Vijayan.
Tensions have risen as the Congress faction targets the Chief Minister and his family after a Malayalam newspaper reported CMRL's payments totaling Rs 1.72 crore to CM's daughter between 2017-2020. Allegations have surfaced suggesting these payments were made monthly, purportedly owing to her association with a notable figure.
