Justice Yashwant Varma found himself at the center of a controversy when burnt wads of cash were discovered following a fire at his Lutyen's home, leading to notable changes in the Delhi High Court's administrative setup.
The Supreme Court initiated an internal probe, creating a three-member committee to investigate the allegations associated with Justice Varma. Subsequently, the judge was recommended for a transfer as per the recent administrative directives, sparking widespread attention within the judiciary.
The reconstitution of 66 committees, which Justice Varma was once part of, marks a significant shift in the judicial landscape, with the addition of photographs and videos related to the cash discovery being made public by Chief Justice D K Upadhyaya as part of the inquiry report.
