In a grim discovery, the body of a 32-year-old woman was found inside a suitcase in Bengaluru, police reported on Thursday. Identified as Gauri Khedekar, the deceased was a native of Maharashtra.
Following the crime, her husband, Rakesh Rajendera Khedekar, fled to Pune. Authorities have since detained him for suspected involvement in the murder. The couple had relocated to Bengaluru just last month and were residing in a flat in Doddakammanahalli village.
According to Deputy Commissioner Sarah Fatima, the body, showing signs of stab wounds, was discovered when the house owner alerted police. The investigation aims to uncover the motive behind the killing. Forensic experts have collected samples, and further probes are ongoing.
