Activists from the Shiv Sena Dogra Front (SSDF) ignited a Pakistani flag on Thursday, protesting against growing terror incidents in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district. The protest was a response to a gunfight in Jakhole village where two police officers were wounded.
The clash began when security forces detected terrorists near Jakhole village in Ghati Juthana area, some 30 kilometers away from a recent encounter site in Hiranagar sector. The event underlined the heightened tensions caused by such incidents.
Heading the demonstration, SSDF chairman Ashok Gupta condemned Pakistan for its supposed provocations. Gupta also criticized any support for peace talks with Pakistan, asserting that talks and terrorism cannot coexist under the current climate. He warned of potentially severe repercussions, akin to previous conflicts.
