In a recent address, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expressed dissatisfaction with the central government's response to the Wayanad landslide crisis. According to Vadra, despite concerted efforts to secure financial aid for victims, the assistance provided was negligible.

Speaking at a foundation-laying ceremony for a model township project initiated by the Kerala government, Vadra emphasized that the development marked the first step towards rebuilding lives and offering hope to the affected families.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who laid the foundation stone, echoed her sentiments, criticizing the central government for its insufficient support. He referred to the sanctioned Rs 529.50 crore loan under the capital investment scheme as inadequate for the massive rehabilitation task at hand.
