Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is executing a major workforce reduction strategy, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.

The plan, which could lead to 10,000 full-time jobs being cut and many regional offices being closed, will see the department shrink significantly.

If fully realized, this initiative would scale down the federal health workforce to approximately 62,000 employees. HHS was not available for immediate comment when approached by Reuters.
