In a tragic incident in Bihar's Gaya district, Neeraj Kumar, a 40-year-old assistant sub-inspector, allegedly took his own life using his service revolver, according to an official statement released on Thursday.
Kumar, originally from Lakhisarai district, was stationed at the Mofussil police station. His lifeless body was discovered in a park near the Police Lines late on Wednesday night, shortly after he returned from an extended leave, confirmed Senior Superintendent of Police Anand Kumar.
A Special Investigating Team has been established to explore the factors that may have contributed to Kumar's suicide. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to further assist in the ongoing investigation.
