A Bosnian court on Thursday announced it is pursuing an international arrest warrant for Milorad Dodik, the President of the Bosnian Serb republic, due to his advocacy for separatism.

The court issued the request on Wednesday, transferring the decision to Interpol. Dodik, known for his pro-Russia stance, has repeatedly pushed for the separation of Bosnia's Serb-controlled region, raising alarms of possible unrest.

Although Dodik faces sanctions from the US and UK, he retains support from Moscow. Recently, he defied the court by not appearing for questioning over allegations of constitutional violations, opting instead to visit Serbia and later Israel. His actions have escalated tensions in Bosnia, reminiscent of the ethnic conflicts of the 1990s.
