Delhi Police have detained a man accused of brandishing an illegal firearm on social media, officials confirmed on Thursday. The suspect, Sohail, hailing from JJ Colony in Bawana, was captured in the Narela Industrial Area, carrying a locally manufactured pistol and a live cartridge.
Authorities revealed that on March 26, they received intelligence about an individual displaying weapons online. This prompted a tactical operation along Narela-Bawana Road, resulting in the apprehension of the suspect. The ensuing search uncovered the illegal firearm.
In custody, Sohail allegedly confessed to possessing and showcasing weapons to assert his influence locally. He reportedly hinted at potential connections to illegal arms suppliers, which are now under investigation. Police continue to delve into the origins of the weapon.
