A minor boy in the Civil Lines area was reportedly coerced to convert to Islam with the promise of money, authorities revealed on Thursday.
Circle Officer Rajkumar Sav stated that three individuals—Imran, Noor Ali, and Mange Ram—have been detained as part of the investigation.
Following the victim's father's complaint, the incident is being probed under the UP Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2021. The young boy, who is in class eight, was allegedly pressured into conversion and even underwent circumcision by a Hindu barber. A medical examination is currently underway as investigations proceed.
