For the second day, judicial proceedings at the Allahabad High Court have been disrupted as lawyers continue an indefinite strike. The protest, led by the Allahabad High Court Bar Association (AHCBA), opposes the proposed transfer of Delhi High Court judge Yashwant Varma amidst an ongoing investigation into alleged cash recovery from his residence.

The AHCBA has reacted strongly by suspending the memberships of lawyers who defied the strike to appear in court. AHCBA Secretary Vikrant Pandey confirmed that notices have been sent to those lawyers, demanding explanations within two days, failing which their memberships will be permanently terminated.

The strike has also resulted in the closure of the affidavit centre. Association officials have approached judges, seeking their support for the protest, which is set to continue on March 27. The disruptions highlight tensions within the legal community as they rally against proposed judicial changes.
