Last Call for Free Gas: Deepam-2 Deadline Approaches
Andhra Pradesh Food and Civil Supplies Minister N Manohar announced that the deadline for availing the first free gas cylinder under the Deepam-2 scheme is March 31. Beneficiaries are urged to book immediately. The scheme, part of pre-poll welfare promises, offers three free gas cylinders annually.

In a recent announcement, Andhra Pradesh Food and Civil Supplies Minister N Manohar highlighted the urgency for beneficiaries to book their first free gas cylinders under the Deepam-2 scheme before the impending deadline of March 31.
This initiative, launched on November 1, 2024, provides three free gas cylinders each year to eligible households and is one of the key promises made by the TDP-led NDA as part of their 'super six' welfare pledges ahead of the 2024 elections.
Manohar emphasized that state funds amounting to Rs 2,684 crore have been earmarked for the scheme, and so far, 98 lakh beneficiaries have taken advantage of it. Note that beneficiaries must first pay for the cylinders, with refunds processed within 48 hours.
