Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced a significant reduction in Naxalite activities, with over 325 insurgents killed and over 2,000 arrested or surrendered in the past month and a half.
Addressing an investors' meet, Sai dispelled misconceptions about the prevalence of Naxalism in the state, clarifying that the issue is confined to the Bastar region. He expressed confidence in the government's efforts to combat and eliminate the threat.
The state has introduced a rehabilitation package for surrendering Naxalites and launched the 'Your Beautiful Village' scheme, establishing 38 security camps in impacted areas. Furthermore, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has pledged to eradicate Naxalism nationwide by March 2026.
