The Delhi Assembly is gearing up for a revolutionary shift as it plans to go paperless by the Monsoon Session, according to Speaker Vijender Gupta. MLAs will adopt the e-Vidhan application across various digital devices, including touchscreen desktops, smartphones, and tablets, enhancing legislative work efficiency.
Addressing the Assembly's Budget Session, Speaker Gupta emphasized that this initiative has been accelerated to ensure completion within 100 days, enabling an advanced work mode during the June-July Monsoon Session. This transition utilizes the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA), marking a significant step towards a digital and sustainable procedural framework.
Training for the application is in progress, with a permanent facilitation center being established. A tripartite agreement between the Delhi Assembly, the Delhi government, and the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs underpins this project, which is supported by central funding. This development will empower MLAs to access legislative records and submit notices digitally, promising streamlined operations for the Assembly's functions.
