A team, led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi), visited the home of Delhi High Court Judge Yashwant Varma to investigate the alleged discovery of cash, according to official sources.
The police team plans to inspect the site of a recent fire and may question the staff working at Judge Varma's residence.
This investigation follows a three-member committee inquiry initiated by the Chief Justice of India on March 22, after photos and videos suggested a large amount of cash was found at the location. Justice Varma firmly denied the presence of cash, asserting it was never placed there by him or his family.
