China Rebukes U.S. Hegemonic Views Amid Rising Tensions

China's foreign ministry called on the United States to abandon its 'hegemonic mentality' after the U.S. labeled China as its top military and cyber threat. The ministry spokesperson, Guo Jiakun, accused the U.S. of spreading unfounded theories to suppress China and urged Washington to halt support for Taiwan independence.

In a sharp rebuke to Washington, China's foreign ministry on Wednesday urged the United States to shed its 'hegemonic mentality' after the U.S. designated China as its top military and cyber threat.

Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun accused the U.S. of propagating baseless theories aimed at containing and suppressing China, escalating diplomatic tensions between the two countries.

Guo further pressed the U.S. to cease its backing of Taiwan independence activities, adding fuel to the already strained bilateral relations.
